چکیده
The occurrence of grain boundary precipitates was investigated with respect to the crystallographic orientation adjacent grains in extruded AA6110, AA6063 and AA6061 alloys brought T6 temper. It found that requirement for precipitate formation is have <100>Al directions or {100}Al planes parallel plane. highest density present when this fulfilled by both grains.

PRE-PRECIPITATE CLUSTERS AND PRECIPITATION PROCESSES IN Al-Mg-Si ALLOYS
––The solute clusters and the metastable precipitates in aged Al-Mg-Si alloys have been characterized by a three-dimensional atom probe (3DAP) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). After long-term natural aging, Mg-Si co-clusters have been detected in addition to separate Si and Mg atom clusters. The particle density of β′′ after 10 h artificial aging at 175°C varies depending on pre-agin...

Article history: Received 10 February 2016 Received in revised form 22 May 2016 Accepted 8 June 2016 Available online xxxx The relationships betweenmicrostructure, controlled by alloying elements prone to grain boundary segregation, and electrical resistivity in sputtered nanocrystalline Cu were investigated. We find a non-monotonic dependence of themean grain size on solute concentration for b...
متن کاملInfluence of thermomechanical processing on the grain size, texture and mechanical properties of Mg-Al alloys
The work carried out by the authors over the last decade on the processing, microstructural characterization and the mechanical behaviour of Mg alloys is reviewed. In particular, the potential for grain refinement and for the development of specific textures of large strain hot rolling (LSHR), equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) and accumulative roll bonding (ARB) is discussed. The recrystall...
متن کاملDeveloping grain boundary diagrams for multicomponent alloys
Impurity-based, premelting-like, intergranular films (IGFs, a common type of grain boundary complexion) can form in various materials and influence sintering, creep, and microstructure development. A thermodynamic framework is presented to forecast the formation and stability of these premelting-like grain boundary complexions (a.k.a. interfacial “phases” that are thermodynamically two dimensio...
